Happy National Volunteer Week!
National Volunteer Week began in 1974 when President Richard Nixon signed an executive order establishing the week as an annual celebration of volunteering. The purpose was to recognize the millions of dedicated Americans who volunteer during the year in an effort to make the world a better place.
In celebration of National Volunteer Week, we have two events:
Lay Responder Review Course
Thursday, April 22 6:00pm – 10:00pm
CPR and First Aid –must have previously held certification to be eligible for review course.
Volunteer Action Day
Saturday, April 24th 9:00am-2:00pm
Various preparedness activities around the Red Cross office. Lunch will be provided by staff!
